A rescue that sets up the whole season

It starts with a rescue. A man goes under at a private beach club, lifeguard Sophie Dee gets him breathing again, and the next day she meets him properly: the boss's adult nephew, now the new cabana boy.

Sophie asks to take him under her wing instead of leaving him with the deck crew. A reminder to keep things professional follows. The series is about how long that holds over one summer.

The setting does half the work: sun, staff, a private club and a relationship that is not supposed to exist. Everyone involved is an adult.

Episode 1 also sets the dynamic. She talks him through his breathing in the water, and he follows her lead. The experienced woman leads, the newcomer takes direction, and that pattern is the spine of the series.
